Suspension Lubricants

Use a lubricant approved by the bushing manufacturer, typically one that stays in place and does not attack polyurethane. Petroleum grease is not automatically suitable for every bushing material.

Use the lubricant specified for the bushing material and manufacturer. Polyurethane bushings often use a dedicated synthetic or silicone-compatible bushing lubricant, while rubber components may require different treatment or no added lubricant at all. The wrong chemistry can cause swelling, noise, or premature wear, so do not assume general-purpose grease is suitable.
