Frequently Asked Questions

Inspect the mounts for cracking, crushing, separation, missing material, or obvious deterioration. Worn mounts can also contribute to body or cab alignment problems, vibration, or clunking, but those symptoms can have other causes too. If the bushings are visibly damaged, choose replacements for the exact vehicle and mounting positions rather than diagnosing the problem from noise alone.

Start with Select Your Vehicle, then verify the year, make, model, cab or body configuration, and any application notes on the individual kit. Similar vehicles can use different mounts depending on standard, extended, or crew cab configurations, and some applications even differ by the shape of the factory mounting location. Don't choose a kit by vehicle generation alone.

They can transmit more road feel or vibration than softer factory-style rubber because polyurethane is generally firmer. The tradeoff is greater resistance to crushing, distortion, and deterioration. If maintaining the softest factory-style isolation is your priority, pay close attention to the mount material; if durability and firmer body-to-frame support matter more, polyurethane may be the better fit.

Not always. Some kits in this category specifically include hardware, while others require you to reuse some or all of the original bolts, washers, sleeves, or other pieces. Check the included-components list before buying, especially if your factory hardware is rusty, damaged, or missing. Don't assume a complete set of bushings automatically means a complete installation-hardware kit.

It depends on the application. Some cab/body mount sets include the front radiator or core-support positions, while others cover only certain body locations. Truck-bed mounts may be separate or not included at all. Check the position list or installation diagram for the exact kit so you know every mount the package replaces before ordering.

Standard replacement body mounts normally restore the intended body-to-frame support and height; they aren't the same thing as a body lift. Some worn mounts may have compressed enough that new replacements restore lost height, but that isn't a suspension or body-lift modification. If your goal is intentionally increasing body height, look for a properly engineered Body Lift Kit & Components application instead.
