Suspension Sway Bars

Suspension sway bars, also known as anti-roll bars, are components that help reduce body roll and improve a vehicle's stability during cornering. They are typically made of steel and are connected to the suspension system, usually running from one side of the vehicle to the other. The primary function of a sway bar is to transfer some of the forces generated during turns from the side of the car that is experiencing more compression to the opposite side. This helps keep the vehicle more level and reduces excessive leaning or tilting, resulting in improved handling, especially when navigating sharp corners or uneven terrain.

By minimizing body roll, sway bars enhance the vehicle's overall balance and traction, providing a smoother, more controlled driving experience. They are particularly beneficial in performance cars, trucks, or SUVs that are used for spirited driving or off-road activities. Upgrading to a thicker or adjustable sway bar can further improve handling and reduce the risk of instability, especially during aggressive cornering or high-speed driving.
