Trailer Spindles

Frequently Asked Questions

Replace a spindle that's bent, has damaged threads, or has bearing surfaces too worn or scored for new bearings to seat properly. A bent spindle usually shows up as uneven tire wear on that wheel. Most trailer spindles are welded to the axle, so replacement is a cut-and-weld job. Size the new spindle by the bearings it carries: a #84 spindle on a 3,500-pound axle, for example, takes L68149 and L44649 bearings. Then match the shape, length, and capacity rating.
